The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today that it will begin showing live events in theaters nationwide, beginning with UFC 111 on March 27th.
The UFC completed a deal with NCM Fathom Entertainment Company that will air these live pay-per-view events in high-definition in a multitude of theater groups, including such notable theaters as AMC Entertainment, INC, Regal Entertainment Group, Palace, Cinemark, and Hollywood.
Tickets to the event are available via www.fathomevents.com. I personally checked if UFC 111 would be showing in my area and it will be at the ticket price of $25, half of what it costs to purchase the pay-per-view event. This seems a bit much; however, I will pay it at least once for the experience.
What do you think of the UFC’s latest move into cinema? And what do you think of the ticket price?

Cool concept, but like you I’d probably try it once. I think it’s more likely I’d get a few friends together and chip in for the PPV at home. I am sure along with the $25 ticket price I’d still have to spend $10 – $15 on popcorn and soda.
