They come at you with a stacked card including a former Olympian in the co-main event. The card also includes Mike “The Beast” Campbell.

Here is the card that has been announced

Mike Campbell vs. Marc Stevens

Rick Hawn vs. Tom Gallicchio

John Benoit vs. Noah Weisman

Dan Bonnell vs. Cesario de Souza

Mike Zichelle vs. Stephen Stengel

Jamie Campbell vs. Colin Schrader

Dan Simmler vs. Robby Roberts

Matt Martin vs. Peter Cole

Nelson Gaipo vs. Matt Johnson

Carlos Lovato vs. Guillermo Echuaca

Joel Ly vs. Steve Beck

In the co-main event of the evening is former Olympian in Judo Rick Hawn.

USAJUDO.com

Hawn finished 9th at the Olympics in his weight class. Some of his other achievements include World Championship Teams 2007, the Pan American Games Teams: 2007 (Bronze), Pan American Championship Teams 2004 (Fifth), 2002 (Bronze), 1999. He has since transitioned into MMA where he trains under Marc Daligrotte and Jimmy Pedro. Currently Hawn is 5-0 only going to a decision once, all of his other 4 bouts ended within the 1st with a TKO/KO. In the corner opposite Hawn will be his opponent Tom Gallicchio who is 12-4, winning 4 of his last 5 bouts. Gallicchio definitely has the experience edge over Hawn. This will be a tough fight for the former Olympian.

In the main event we find WEC veteran Michael “The Beast” Campbell. He is currently 7-2 and coming off a TKO victory at WCF8 back in September. He is facing Marc Stevens who is 12-5 and has won 4 of his last 5 bouts. In an interview with FightPros Campbell described him as a “Good wrestler. Not the best technical striker but he likes to go in there and bang.” The bout will be held at 155 lbs.

Michael Campbell is fighting for World Championship Fighting (WCF) in the Main Event at WCF9 on Friday Febuary 26th at the Shiners Auditorium in Wilmington, MA.

FightPros.com: Tell our readers a little about yourself.

Campbell: I’m a world champion powerlifter who has transitioned over to MMA. Training at Sityodtong and with Mark Deligrati and Tim Burrill BJJ.

FightPros.com: How is your training going? Is the weather affecting it at all?

Campbell: Training is going well 6 times a day 3 days a week, getting good and regimented.

FightPros.com: What is your preferred style of fighting?

Campbell: I like to mainly get in there and strike.

FightPros.com: What do you know about your opponent at WCF9, Mark Stevens?

Campbell: From what I have seen he is a good wrestler. Not the best technical striker but he likes to go in there and bang, Ground and Pound yeah.

FightPros.com: Do you have a job outside of MMA?

Campbell: I am a strength and conditioning coach

FightPros.com: Do you have any hobbies?

Campbell: Fighting is my hobby, that’s why I am good at it.

FightPros.com: People say there is a difference between fighting in a cage or octagon to fighting in a ring. Having fought in WEC did you notice any difference?

Campbell: Yes, I prefer the cage. Your opponent won’t fall through the ropes, it allows you to control the dominate position and dominate more.

FightPros.com: You fought in the WEC twice do you want to get back in to the WEC eventually?

Campbell: Yes, I want back in the WEC.

FightPros.com: Did you watch the Superbowl this Sunday and do you plan on watching any of the Olympics?

Campbell: I watched the Super Bowl and yeah I plan on catching the Olympics.

FightPros.com: Ok, that’s about it are there any sponsors or people you would like to thank?

Campbell: Yes I would like to thank Malevilgnce, my training partners at Tim Burrill and Sityodtong and Endurox .

FightPros.com: Can people find you on Twitter or Facebook?

Campbell: I’m on Facebook . I tried Twitter for like 2 weeks and gave it up.

FightPros.com: Thanks again and hopefully you win your next fight.

Campbell: I do to.
