Rich Franklin most recently lost to Vitor Belfort via first round KO at UFC 103.  Rich has returned to the Light Heavyweight division nearly full-time since losing his war of divisional dominance to Anderson Silva.  Although Franklin has fought at Light Heavyweight since losing to Anderson Silva, he dropped down and fought two catch weight bouts in 2009 at 195 lbs.

In a fight against Couture there is no denying that the two men would face off at the 205 lbs. division.  Franklin recently suffered from a hernia which resulted in him taking time off following his UFC 103 loss.  He was originally rumored to face Keith Jardine at UFC 110 but due to the injury, the rumor proved untrue.  Franklin most recently had surgery for the injury and stated his desire to return to action around the season of Spring.  If you add it all up, it seems very likely that Couture could face Franklin at UFC 115 given the timing of the event.  These two friends share a mutual respect for each other and for what they’ve done for the sport.  It will be interesting to see if these two men do face off at some point through out 2010.
